After a long hiatus, I'm back

"Summer Home," 20" x 24", acrylic on canvas
commission

Well, the summer/fall of 2008 has been a trying one to say the least. I haven't picked up a brush in almost 6 months.

Personal life issues, professional issues, and worst of all....my beautiful black lab, Annie, died. My heart just wasn't into being creative.

Fortunately, a painting customer of mine, commissioned me to do his mother's place with flower gardens and to have it done before Thanksgiving. This project finally got me in front of an easel again. Finished painting is above.

This past July, I did manage to get a small painting done for my best friend, Debbie. It was a birthday gift and is a study of her viewing a painting at an art gallery in Phoenix. Sure is easy to paint subjects ya love, isn't it.

Thanks so much for your note. It's so weird not having her underfoot. Our customers sent flowers and cards. I only hope I get that much attention!

Hope all is well with you and your family.

Oh Jayne, I'm so very sorry to hear about Annie.

We've been having some issues with Izzy but she is hanging in. We are grateful to have Alice for comic relief. I should send her to you for a few days to lift your spirits.

Glad to see you posting again, Wishing you sunnier days ahead.

Anne, thanks for your kind words and offering of Alice. Does she know you're offering her services?!! Have a great holiday season.

Jayne, so sorry to learn you lost your friend, Annie. We get so attached to our pets. We have a 14 year old cat that we've grown quite fond of and know we will miss her when she's gone.

It is good to see that you're working again. In my old age I enjoy seeing the talents of my young friends expressed so well.

Arlene,
It was great to hear from you. Just waiting for the holidays to be over. With the restaurant and family obligations, it's very hectic.

Hope all is well with your family!

Frank,
What a surprise to see your note. I read your blog almost every day, but don't comment much these days. I guess you can call me a lurker!

I love your autumn paintings this year. I wish I could do trees as well as you do.
